A resource is necessary to complete project tasks, including people, equipment, materials, etc. You can use Resource Planning in MS Project to:
- Assign responsibility for each task – the easiest path for self-taught users.
- Determine the quantity and types of resources required for a new project.
- Assess the distribution of project resources, ensure there are sufficient resources to complete tasks on time, and confirm that all team members have work assigned.
- Implement resource leveling or reschedule tasks to achieve realistic planning if needed.
- Evaluate the cost of a project, based on the cost of each resource
- Receive reports from work resources on work performed regularly, enter actual data into the app, and get plan-fact and earned value analysis, as well as adjust plans easily if needed.
This is only a part of the features and capabilities I will try to cover in the following articles.
