A Deadline, despite its severe name, is not a strict requirement that the program must adhere to.
If we want to complete a task by a certain date, we can set a deadline for the task.
To do this, you need to open the Task Information window (for example, by double-clicking on the task) and on the Advanced tab in the Deadline field, set the desired date and click OK:
As a result, an arrow will appear next to this task at the level of the deadline date in the diagram:
If you hover over this arrow, you can see the deadline date.
And what will happen if the task is planned with a violation of the deadline?
Program won’t even try to reschedule the task. It will only indicate that the deadline we have conceived cannot be met with the existing schedule. This is indicated by the indicator - a red diamond with an exclamation mark in the Indicators column:
That is, the main function of the Deadline tool is to mark the desired deadline in the diagram and track the possibility of its observance.
